About

Dr. Sanjay Gogoi chairs urology, kidney transplantation and uro-oncology at the Renal Care Institute at Medanta – The Medicity, Gurugram, with over 25 years in urology and more than 1,000 kidney transplants performed. He is trained in robotic surgery for both benign and malignant disease of the kidney, bladder, prostate and adrenal glands, and his particular interests are Retzius-sparing robotic radical prostatectomy, radical cystectomy with orthotopic neobladder, and robotic kidney transplantation in patients with a high body mass index. He has carried out one of India's largest series of paediatric kidney transplants and is recognised for his work in congenital anomalies of the kidney and urinary tract. He previously headed urology and renal transplantation at Apollo Hospital Colombo, Fortis Memorial Research Institute, Manipal Hospital Delhi and Max Super Speciality Hospital Dwarka.
