Dr. Vivek Vij

About

Dr. Vivek Vij chairs liver transplant and hepatobiliary sciences at Fortis Memorial Research Institute, Gurgaon, and across Fortis's Delhi NCR hospitals, with over 25 years of surgical experience. His team has performed more than 2,500 liver transplants, with a reported 95 to 97 percent patient success rate and a full safety record for living donors. He was among the first surgeons on the Indian subcontinent to publish a series on laparoscopic donor hepatectomy in the journal Liver Transplantation, and is credited with developing and standardising safety protocols for living-donor liver surgery in India. He received a special honour from the International Liver Transplant Society in 2015.
