A Padma Bhushan-awarded interventional cardiologist and electrophysiologist, widely regarded as a pioneer of cardiac electrophysiology in India — credited with founding the country's first EP department and with India's first ICD, CRT-P, CRT-D implants and first His-bundle pacing (2015). Has performed 35,000+ coronary/renal/carotid/peripheral angioplasties. Mentor to 300+ cardiologists; scientific advisor to US medical-device firms; frequent HRS/ACC faculty.
