About
Dr. Ramji Mehrotra leads cardiothoracic and vascular surgery at BLK-Max Super Speciality Hospital, New Delhi, across a career spanning more than 33 years. He trained at Harvard Medical School's Brigham and Women's Hospital and Boston Children's Hospital, and is known for introducing minimally invasive and total arterial bypass techniques in India. His practice covers total arterial and beating-heart coronary bypass, complex bypass with endarterectomy, valve repair and replacement including sutureless valves, aneurysm surgery and the Bentall procedure, congenital heart surgery, heart failure surgery with ECMO and ventricular assist devices, and transcatheter aortic valve implantation. He performed the first total arterial revascularisation using bilateral mammary arteries at Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals and the first successful arterial switch operation in Mumbai.
