Dr. Shiv Kumar Choudhary is former Professor and Head of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery at AIIMS, New Delhi, and now leads adult heart and vascular surgery at Fortis Escorts Heart Institute. He completed his MBBS and MS in General Surgery at GSVM Medical College, Kanpur, and his MCh in Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery at AIIMS. He is among the country's most experienced aortic surgeons, and his practice covers complex and minimally invasive valve procedures, redo operations, total arterial and poor-LV bypass grafting, pulmonary thromboendarterectomy, surgery for hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy, and heart failure surgery including transplantation and ventricular assist devices. He has published more than 470 research papers.
