Dr. Ashok Seth

About

Dr. Ashok Seth chairs Fortis Escorts Heart Institute, New Delhi, and the Fortis Healthcare Medical Council, and has practised interventional cardiology for around four decades. He has performed more than 60,000 angiographies and 25,000 angioplasties, and was the first in Asia to perform several procedures, among them coronary stenting, drug-eluting stents, angioscopy, Angiojet thrombectomy, Impella support, TAVR and bioresorbable scaffolds. He is an adjunct professor of cardiology at JN Medical College, Aligarh Muslim University, and at the National Board of Examinations. He was awarded the Padma Shri in 2003, the Padma Bhushan in 2015, and the Dr. B.C. Roy National Award in 2017.
