About
Dr. Arvind Kumar chairs the Institute of Chest Surgery, Thoracic Oncology Surgery and Lung Transplantation at Medanta – The Medicity, Gurugram. He was Professor of Surgery and head of thoracic and robotic surgery at AIIMS, New Delhi, from 1988 to 2012, then chaired the Centre for Chest Surgery and directed robotic surgery at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital until 2020. He has performed more than 15,000 thoracic operations, over 8,000 of them by minimally invasive or robotic technique, and led North India's first double lung transplant, at Medanta in November 2022. He received the Dr. B.C. Roy Award in 2014 and founded the Lung Care Foundation.
