About

Dr. Yugal Kishore Mishra chairs the Manipal Institute of Cardiac Sciences and is Chief of Clinical Services at Manipal Hospital, Dwarka, New Delhi. Across 45 years he has performed more than 19,000 open-heart operations, and he founded the hospital's robotic cardiac surgery programme, where he has carried out over 500 robotic procedures. He completed his MBBS at S.S. Medical College, Rewa, in 1980, his MS in General Surgery in 1984, and a PhD in Cardiovascular Surgery at the Bakulev Institute in Moscow in 1991. He trained in robotic and minimally invasive cardiac surgery in the United States, the Netherlands, France and Sweden, and has performed live operative demonstrations at workshops in Bangladesh, Nepal and Thailand.
