Dr. Gourdas Choudhuri

Dr. Gourdas Choudhuri directs gastroenterology and hepatobiliary sciences at Fortis Memorial Research Institute, Gurugram, with more than 40 years in the field, 25 of them on the faculty of SGPGIMS, Lucknow. He completed his MBBS at JIPMER, Pondicherry, his MD in Medicine in 1982, and his DM in Gastroenterology at AIIMS, New Delhi, in 1984. He introduced endoscopic ultrasound and extracorporeal shockwave lithotripsy for bile duct stones to India, has more than 200 scientific publications, and is a past president of the Indian Society of Gastroenterology. He is a fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology and of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland.
